Emmett the Traveler

I’m not gonna lie – things are a little hectic.  I’m taking on more projects at work, I have a three-month old baby who’s starting to require more entertainment, and now James and I have to start apartment hunting for September 1.  Unfortunately, my posts may start to become fewer and farther between.

In Baby Lump news, the little man has been doing great!  He had his first long distance trip on the train last weekend – we took him up to Maine for Easter weekend.  It was one of his first long-distance excursions where he didn’t sleep the entire time.  He was pretty cute – lounging on dad, looking out the window at the passing scenery, flirting with the woman across the aisle.  And besides the fact that he had a little bit of an accident all over his and my Easter outfits, he was a very good guest at the cottage in Maine.

James and I were even able to go out on our first date alone since he was born.  We went to this nice, romantic, little French restaurant for dinner, then to a tavern in Freeport to watch the Ice Dogs kick some serious University of Miami (Ohio) butt in the national championship!  Apparently Emmett was a good little boy for Gran Lucy and Grandpa Mac.

He’s really starting to rock tummy time, and he’s holding his head up well enough now to face outward in the Baby Bjorn.

Emmett Rocks Tummy Time & Meets the Fam

As I mentioned yesterday, Emmett met a lot of his extended family members last week in Pennsylvania.  He also did a little bit of dancing (in his brand new Converse sneakers, just like dad’s!) …

We even learned that Em has an alien in his chest.  The alien emerges whenever Emmett has the hiccups …

Finally, Emmett showed off to the family by performing his best session of tummy time yet!

I think it’s safe to say the little guy made a pretty good first impression 🙂
