When Babies Attack

August 4, 2009 Leave a comment

I can’t tell you how many times James and I have been injured by our baby.  We’ve been headbutted, pierced by his razor sharp fingernails (I swear they’re made of teeny tiny razor blades), pinched, slapped, kicked in the groin … you name it.  If you have kids or read this article, then you understand a little bit better what we’ve been going through.

Beware little baby attacks ...

So when I saw this MadTV sketch parody of the early 90s disaster programs Fox used to air, I totally related.  Hilarious, and on some level, so true!

Manbabies, Just Shootin’ the Poop

March 31, 2009 1 comment

James found this wonderfully funny video on College Humor this morning.  Just another example of people’s seemingly odd obsession with manbabies.  Anyway, I couldn’t help but share it with you.  What do you think, would Em fit in?

Meet Baby Lump-Routan

January 2, 2009 5 comments

I can’t believe I missed this when I wrote the post about Volkswagen’s awesome Routan, “have a baby for love, not German engineering” campaign. Maybe they hadn’t come out with the RoutanBabymaker3000 at that point, but yesterday I came across it on this really awesome dad blog I occasionally read called “Noodad.” Basically, the RoutanBabymaker3000 allows you to “make a baby without actually ‘making’ a baby.”

Have a Routan baby with a loved one or a person you hardly even know.  Just find the right mate, and make a baby so adorable you just can’t help but love.

I took the liberty of making a Routan baby with James to determine what Baby Lump might look like.  It should be interesting to see if our real baby bears a resemblance to his/her Routan baby counterpart, which looks to be a boy.  (And I’m hoping we’ll find out fairly soon …)

Elf Yourself for Chrismahanukwanzakah

December 25, 2008 Leave a comment

In honor of the holiday season, I of course had to make the annual “Elf Yourself” video for myself and James.  The viral video, which enables you to make an elf of yourself to a catchy holiday tune, was originally released by Office Max and has been around for a couple of years now.  This year, it looks like Jib Jab has weaseled its way into the mix, adding a couple of new dance genre options (in addition to the classic dance, you can also choose from disco, the Charleston or country).  I’m sure many of you have at least seen the original, but for those of you who haven’t, you’re in for quite a treat.  Here’s James and I doing the Charleston.  We worked pretty darn hard on the choreography, so be nice.  (Apparently WordPress is weird about embedding videos from places other than YouTube, so you’ll have to check out our performance at the following URL:

This video was obviously produced during my pre-pregnancy time (either that or in the future once I lost all the baby weight).  Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah, everybody!

I’ve Been Tagged in the Sixth Photo Meme

December 4, 2008 1 comment

My lovely friend, Amanda Gravel tagged me in a meme last night.  Basically, you grab the sixth photo on the sixth page of your Flickr photostream and write about it on your blog.  Unfortunately, the Little Baby Lump Flickr page only has a total of four pages so far, so I snatched a photo from my regular Flickr page, which you can find here.

James in the Park

The sixth picture on the sixth page of my photostream just so happens to be a pretty cute picture of Baby Lump’s dad (wearing my BU Terriers hat – thief!) sitting on a swing in the park across the street from my old apartment.  Something tells me the next time James and I will be visiting a park, it’ll be Baby Lump’s first time at one.  What a fun thought!

To keep the meme going, I am tagging Rebecca Corliss, Mike Volpe, Joe Cascio, Julia Roy, Shelley Greenberg and Yianni Garcia.  Have fun, guys!

Let’s All Hope and Pray I Don’t Give Birth to a ManBaby

November 26, 2008 4 comments

Be prepared.  The Web site I’m about to share with you may either crack you up or creep you out, but I’m assuming more often than not it will be the latter.  For me, I think it does both.

So basically, there’s this site called  It takes normal pictures of father-son interactions and superimposes their heads on each other’s body.  Case in point:

ManBabies Pool Time

Creepy, right?  How about this one …

Backpacking ManBabies

Backpacking ManBabies

Pretty funny, I think.  Anyway, I’ll let you decide for yourself.  My sister shared the site with me, and I definitely thought it was worthy enough to be featured on the blog.  Hey, it can’t be any worse than the Baby Shower Cake Wrecks or the Martha Stewart Halloween costumes, can it?  I’m not gonna lie – if Baby Lump turns out to be a boy, I’m kind of looking forward to taking a picture of James and him and making a ManBaby picture out of it.  My new laptop is fully equipped with PhotoShop.  ;o)

In the interim, feel free to check out more ManBabies at at your leisure.

As for Baby Lump, my last doctor appointment revealed that my baby bump is measuring slightly smaller than it should be for 33 weeks gestation (See, It’s not just me being paranoid that I seem small!).  Based on my too-small belly, our doctor scheduled an ultrasound for this Monday.  A little worrisome to me, but on the bright side, we get more fetal baby pictures!

And there’s no need for James and I to avert our eyes; apparently it’s not possible for the untrained eye to tell the baby’s sex, even this far along.  Another cool thing is we’ll probably be able to find out the exact weight of Baby Lump, along with his/her position in the womb.  Hopefully his/her head is starting to point downward to make for an easy landing.
